Today, dear friends, we will talk about a unique subject. We know that humans are made of clay, but do you know that the human body contains much more water than clay? Researchers say that 72% of the human body is water, and the rest is clay. In fact, if all the water in our bodies were extracted, we would be reduced to just a small pile of dust. Friends, the hardest or strongest part of the human body is the bones, and even bones contain 40% water. Muscles are made up of 60% water, and the brain is 80% water. Your body and my body are essentially made of water. Since the human body is made up of 72% water, the first and foremost way to keep it healthy is by using water for treatment, which most of us don’t do. Whenever we feel unwell, we quickly run to a doctor, who prescribes medicine. We take the medicine and feel temporarily better. However, it’s not the medicine that cures us; it’s our physical capacity that brings us back to health. But we often think it’s the medicine that healed us.

Dear friends, today I will teach you four rules for drinking water. If anyone can follow these rules, I can assure you that the chances of needing to visit a doctor will be very slim.

Correct rules for drinking water
  1. Drink enough water
First of all, always drink enough water so that your body never suffers from dehydration. To check if you are drinking enough water, you need to pay attention to your urine. If your urine is dark yellow, it means you have not consumed enough water. On the other hand, if your urine is completely clear like drinking water, it means you have drunk too much water. The ideal urine color is light yellow. If this is the case, it means your body is getting the necessary amount of water.
  2. Drink water while sitting
The second point is that whenever you drink water, always drink it while sitting down. Never, under any circumstances, drink water while standing. If people knew how harmful it is to drink water while standing, they would never make that mistake. There is a Hadith that says if you mistakenly drink water while standing, you should put your finger in your mouth and vomit it out because it’s equivalent to poison. The intention behind this statement is to emphasize that no one should drink water while standing. Many of us make this mistake frequently. Please, friends, drinking water while standing is one of the main reasons for the increase in kidney diseases nowadays. Those who continue to drink water standing should prepare for kidney problems in the future. However, if you drink water while sitting, it will benefit you greatly by enhancing your physical capabilities and boosting your immune system.
  3. Mix saliva with water when drinking
The third point is that if you are a Muslim, you should say “Bismillah” before drinking water. Saying “Bismillah” or remembering the Creator while drinking water is a Sunnah. Another mistake we often make is that, in a rush or by mistake, we sometimes gulp down the water too quickly. Please, friends, avoid this mistake. There are two types of animals in the world. One type, like dogs and cats, uses their tongues to lap up water. The other type of animal drinks by sipping, and humans belong to this category. When drinking water, you should sip it so that not only the water but also your saliva enters your body. The more saliva mixes with the water, the more it will enhance your body’s immune system and activate your digestive strength. Most of us no longer drink directly from a pot or river by sipping. Being intelligent creatures, we have invented bottles and mugs. Therefore, to mix saliva with water, we should swirl the water in our mouths before swallowing. You should drink the water in three sips—one sip, two sips, and the rest in the third sip. After taking each sip, slightly lower the glass. When drinking water, a breath is released from inside you, and that breath is equivalent to poison. Make sure that the breath doesn’t fall back into the water. Lower the glass or cup, or move it slightly aside while you drink. Also, use both hands to hold the glass. Drinking with your right hand is Sunnah, but if possible, use both hands because you have two kidneys, one on each side. If you give equal importance to both kidneys, then definitely use both hands while drinking water.
  4. Drink water at room temperature
From today onwards, never drink cold water under any circumstances. Drink water at normal temperature or room temperature. It’s even better if you can slightly warm the water before drinking it. It’s even more beneficial if, each time you drink water, you can squeeze a bit of lemon into it. Even better, if possible, add a small amount of apple cider vinegar and one spoon of honey to the water once or twice a day. However, don’t mix honey every time; limit it to once a day, and the same goes for apple cider vinegar. Try to drink lemon water several times a day.

Lastly, never drink water during meals. Drink water before eating, and about 30 to 40 minutes after finishing your meal, drink one to two glasses of warm water. If someone follows these rules, I guarantee that you will have very few health issues, or the chances of falling ill will be greatly reduced. If someone is already sick, from the moment they start following these rules, their condition will improve, and their illness will begin to decrease.

So, always remember to drink water while sitting, say “Bismillah” before drinking, drink in three sips, swirl the water in your mouth to mix it with saliva before swallowing, and use both hands. Don’t drink water during meals. If you follow these rules, I can assure you that your chances of falling sick will be minimal.
